Qué es esto?? - What is this??

Se acerca ya diciembre, y con ello, mucha actividad en lo que se refiere a miniaturas. Claro, antes hay que pasar noviembre, que no será mucho más tranquilo. Por eso, estamos trabajando y haciendo nuevas cositas. A ver si pueden decir de qué se trata esta foto (no digan que está complicado, es bien simple!)

December is coming, and a lot of miniature related activity comes with it. But first, we have to go trhough november, wich also has some shows sor us. That's why we are working hard and trying to make new stuff. Let's see if you can guess what is there in the picture (don't say it's complicated, I made very easy this time!)

PERFUMES DE VIDRIO - GLASS PARFUME BOTTLES

Hola!!!

Seguimos tratando de ampliar nuestra línea de miniaturas, y ahora es el turno de presentarles estos frascos de perfume realizados con vidrio Murano. Hace mucho que queríamos hacerlos, sabemos que se pueden lograr muy buenos perfumes con cuentas de bijouterie (y de hecho lo hacemos y las usamos en nuestras miniaturas), pero el vidrio… es el vidrio!

Hello again!!

We keep on trying to make our avaliable miniature range. Now it’s the turn to introduce you this blown glass perfume bottles. They are made using the murano technique of melting the glass with a torch and give it form by hand. We know that very convincing perfume bottles can be made with beads (and we make them too for our miniatures), but when it comes to mimic glass, nothing like glass!!

Llegó el día!!! - Big day has arrived!!!

Como podrán ver por el título del post, estamos más que contentos!!
Finalmente, podemos anunciarles que ya están en producción dos líneas exclusivas de Punto Sur Miniaturas: muebles y miniaturas en metal.
Puede que para muchos sea "más de lo mismo", pero les aseguro que para nosotros, es todo un acontecimiento (y un gran esfuerzo), y para los miniaturistas de Argentina, la posibilidad de acceder a algo que no está disponible en nuestro mercado, y además a precios más que accesibles para Argentina y todo el mundo.
La línea de muebles incluye de momento alacena, cama de una paza, mesa de luz, biblioteca, dos modelos de mesa alta, mesa de comedor, sillas de comedor y de cocina, escritorio y un banco de jardín. 
La línea de miniaturas en metal incluye de momento: cubiertos (cuchillo, tenedor y cuchara), teléfono, canillas, cafetera, jarra, tetera, espejo de mano en dos modelos, cepillo de pelo, bandejas para perfumes, tiradores para puertas/cajones, candelabro, molde de torta, cacerola y sartén con tapa, busto, posalibros, pesebre de 3 y 5 figuras (pueden ser ya montados o sueltos). Y hay muchas más minis de metal esperando salir al ruedo!
Es bueno hacer notar que las miniaturas de metal tienen un acabado peltre, pero también se les puede dar un baño plateado, dorado, cobre o bronce según gusto/necesidad. Y también pueden hacerse en plata!!

As you can read in the title of this post, we're more than happy!
Finally, we can announce (hear the bells singing, LOL) that Punto Sur Miniaturas has in production two lines of miniatures of their own: one on laser cut furniture and other in metal cast miniatures.
May be for many people this is "more of the same", but I assure you for us is a significant event (and a huge effort). Besides, for argentinian miniaturists this is the chance to reach something that was not avaliable in our country, and in really affordable prices both for Argentina and the world.
The furniture included so far in the laser cut line is: wellsh desser, single bed, night table, library, parlor table (in two models) dinning room table, kitchen chair, dinnign room chair, garden bench and desk.
Metal cast miniatures now avaliable are: cutlery (knife, fork and spoon), telephone, faucet, coffee pot, jug, teapot, hand mirror (two medels), hair brush, perfume trays, door knobs, candlestick, cake pan, saucepan with lid, frying pan with lid, bust, book holders, Nativity set in 3 and 5 pieces (mounted or not). Many more metal miniatures to come!!!
Note that metal miniatures comes out in pewter like finish, but can also be made with silver, golden, copper and bronze finish. Also, in sterling silver!

FELIZ NAVIDAD! - MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hola nuevamente!!! estuvimos más que silenciosos estos últimos meses, pero más activos que nunca en lo que se refiere a hacer minis y presentarnos a diferentes eventos aquí en nuestro país. Ya les contaremos al respecto.
El motivo de esta entrada es dejarles un cálido saludo navideño, desearles que este Navidad el Niño Jesús traiga sus manos colmadas de bendiciones para todos ustedes, y mostrarles un trabajito acorde a la fecha.
Se tratan de 100 pesebres que serán llevados el día 24 de diciembre por la tarde a las salas de internación pediátrica del Hospital Posadas acompañando el gesto de la Asociación Civil "Nuestras Manos" http://www.nuestrasmanos.org.ar/.

Cada pesebre tiene una base de 4 x 2 cm y 2,5 cm de altura.

Hello once more!!! We've been more than silent for the last months, but more active than ever referring to miniatures (both making and going to some artisan shows). We'll let you know in a few days about that.
The subject of this entry is to give you a warm Christmas greeting, and wish you all that Baby Jesus brings his hands full of blessings and joy for you. As well, we'd like to share a couple of pictures abut a manger scene. We've made 100 of them, and we'll take them to the Pediatric rooms of the Hospital "Alejandro Posadas" during the afternoon of december 24th. The're part of the Christmas action of a Civil asociation we give a hand to: it's called "Nuestras Manos" ("Our Hands") http://www.nuestrasmanos.org.ar/ .
Each manger scene is 2,5 cm high (1 inch) placed on a base 4 x 2 cm

Estamos de regreso!!! - We are back!!!!

A veces las cosas de la vida nos toman casi todo el tiempo del que podemos disponer, y así ha sido en estos últimos 15 días. En realidad, ya veníamos complicados, pero bueno, ahora estamos algo más aliviados, con mucho trabajo aún, pero con muchas ideas.
Aún así, estuvimos haciendo muuuuchas miniaturas, y de a poco iremos mostrando todo o buena parte. Como adelanto, les mostramos algo que es para nosotros un gran logro: miniaturas en metal. Hemos conseguido hacer una maquinita de coser en minautra íntegramente en metal!!! Fue todo un desafío, pero lo bueno no es que lo hemos logrado solamente, sino que además ahora tenemos la matriz y contamos con la posibilidad de hacer muchas más!!! Esperamos les gusten.
Prontito estaremos mostrando nuevas cositas!!! Saludos!!!

Sometimes life affairs takes you all the avaliable time you have, and that has been happening to us the last 15 days. In fact, we already had a lot of things to handle, but now even when we still have a lot of things to deal with, we are a bit reliefed, and with lots of ideas!!
Despite all the issues, we've been making a lot of minaitures (stress terapy, LOL!!). We'll show you little by little.
As a glimpse of what we did, let me show you one great achievement for us: a metal sewing machine! Yes, we achieved to make it entirely in metal like the real ones, and then painted with enamels. It was such a chalenge, but the great part is not only we managed to make it, but also now we have the matrix and we are able to make a lot more!!! We hope you like them.

PATINAS

Hola! Perdón por no estar muy activo, es que afortunadamente estamos con bastantes trabajos entre encargos y clases luego de la expo. No es mucho lo que hemos podido "jugar", pero en un ratito libre me puse a experimentar sobre un par de bustos dos falsos acabados de verdigirs: uno de plata/peltre y el otro de bronce (que no quedó tan envejecido).
Seguramente con un poco de práctica sladrán mejor.

Hello!! Sorry for not being too active, but fortunately after the show we were into, we are quite busy among commisions and classes. There was not much time to "play", but in a brief spare time, I made some essays on two busts looking for a verdigris patina faux finish: one is silver/pewter and the other bronze (this one is not so aged).
Certainly, with some practice, they'll get better.
